Spark Privacy Policy

Spark is operated by Golden Sunset Studios LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information Spark collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Spark, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and password (handled securely through our authentication provider).
• Profile information: name, date of birth, job, height, bio, gender, relationship preferences, interests, and any prompts or text you add to your profile.
• Photos: the photos you upload to your profile.
• Verification selfie: when you verify your account, we capture a live selfie and compare it against your profile photo to confirm you're a real person who matches your photos. The selfie itself is not stored — it's used only for the one-time comparison and then discarded. We retain only the result (verified or not).
• Messages: the content of messages you send and receive within Spark.
• Usage and safety information: likes, matches, blocks, and reports you make or receive, used to operate matching and keep the community safe.
• Push notification token: a device identifier used to deliver notifications (new messages, matches, likes).
• Purchase information: if you subscribe to Spark+, Apple or Google (depending on which app store you downloaded Spark from) processes your payment directly — we never see or store your payment card details. We receive confirmation from Apple or Google that a subscription is active.

How we use your information

• To operate Spark's core features: profiles, discovery, matching, messaging, and notifications.
• To verify that accounts belong to real people and to reduce fake profiles, scammers, and impersonation.
• To provide customer support and investigate reports of abuse or policy violations.
• To process Spark+ subscription purchases (via Apple's App Store or Google Play).
• To maintain the safety and integrity of the Spark community, including enforcing blocks and account bans.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate Spark:

• Other Spark users see your profile information and photos as part of normal app functionality, and see messages you send them.
• Supabase (our database, authentication, and file storage provider) hosts your account and profile data.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS Rekognition) processes verification selfies at the moment of verification to perform the face comparison described above. The selfie is not retained by us or, per AWS's standard processing terms, stored beyond the request.
• Apple or Google processes Spark+ subscription payments (depending on which app store you downloaded Spark from) and provides us confirmation of active subscriptions.
• We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, messages, and related data from our systems. Verification selfies are never stored in the first place, so there is nothing additional to delete on that front.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete your profile information and photos at any time.
• You can block or report other users directly in the app.
• You can delete your account and associated data from Settings.
• You can disable push notifications in your device settings.

Children's privacy

Spark is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
